WHY POSTURE IS IMPORTANT
Saturday, July 20, 2019
Good posture keeps bones and joints in the correct alignment so that muscles are being used properly. It also helps decrease the abnormal wearing of joint surfaces and the stress on ligaments holding the joints of the spine together.
The first step to maintain or correct posture is awareness. Bring your attention to your posture as you sit, stand, or lie down. If you’re sitting keep both feet on the floor. Do not cross your legs and use low-back support. While standing, keep your knees slightly bent, relax your arms and pull your shoulder back. When lying down, it’s important to choose the right mattress and pillow and to avoid sleeping on your stomach.
Clements Family Chiropractic can also help you to correct your posture through chiropractic adjustments and exercises. Make an appointment today. Ask about the PostureMedic and experience relief and improved posture by wearing it for short intervals throughout the day.
